George W.
Bush, acting upon a joint resolution of Congress, has declared September
11th to be Patriot Day. According to his proclamation, we are supposed
to - - observe this day with appropriate ceremonies and activities - -
and to display the U.S. flag - - at half-staff from homes and observe
a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. EDT - - in honor of the Americans who
died in the terrorist attack.
I have a
better idea, so I am making a proclamation of my own, which of course
is not endorsed by US politicians. I hope that the public endorse this
idea and disseminate it widely.
I am declaring
September 11th - - International We Had Enough Day. - -
Planet Earth
Had Enough Flag-Waving, Enough Flag-Wearing, Enough Israeli Jewish Violence,
Enough Arab Muslim Violence, Enough Evangelical Zionist Christians Violence,
Enough Weapon Manufacturers Violence, And Enough Fake Nationalism.
Enough Already!
The tragedy
of September 11th is not an American tragedy rather it is a human tragedy.
It was a tragedy not just for the people in the US who were murdered,
but for every innocent person murdered as a result of the US reaction
to the attacks as well. It is a tragedy and a major setback for the human
spirit, regardless of nationality and religion.
Why war is
still the only solution known to US government? Why didn't we the American
people learn from fifty-eight thousands (58,000) Americans killed in the
fabricated Vietnam War? Three million (3,000,000) Vietnamese killed and
a million-and-a-half (1,500,000) Cambodians killed and as recently as
November of 2004, everybody is making an issue about whether or not war
in Vietnam was a just war. The Vietnam War was in effect started by US
government's big lie about the Gulf of Tonkin incident, a faked Vietnamese
attack.
People who
supported Vietnam War, or any other WAR of the Empire, not the ones who
opposed them should get up and apologize to all of people who were targeted
due to their support of WAR. And stop supporting WAR. Let's not forget
those who were slain in the My Lai Massacre in Vietnam.
On Each And
Every September 11th, Let's Say - - Enough. - - No More Slaughter.
Let's remember
the innocent victims of the good civilized loving Judeo-Christian Europeans
who massacred over two hundred million (200,000,000) native inhabitants
of the so-called new world, civilians, men, women and children of Native
Americans.
Let's remember
the innocent victims of the good civilized loving Judeo-Christian Europeans
who used biological weapons, (germ warfare) on the Native Americans, killing
millions of them.
Let's remember
the hundreds of thousands of innocent victims of Genocide in Darfur, for
the past twenty (20) years and force the Sudanese Arab Muslim government
to stop political ethnic cleansing, killing Non-Arab Non-Muslim Africans
and to disarm its terrorist militias in Darfur.
Let's remember
the innocent victims of the hijacked airplanes in the US.
Let's remember
the innocent victims of the embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania in
1998.
Let's remember
the innocent Iranian and Iraqi people, over one million (1,000,000) of
them murdered by the United States weapon manufacturers, oil companies,
government and presidents, Jimmy Carter followed by Ronald Reagan, through
the initiation and support of Iran / Iraq war for eight (8) years. Secretly
and illegally, the Reagan White House armed Iraq, normalized U.S. relations
with Iraq, sold and financed Saddam Husseins chemical weapons and
war with Iran.
Let's remember
innocent Palestinians killed by Israeli troops and innocent Israelis killed
by Palestinian bombers.
Let's remember
the millions of innocent Armenians, victims of Genocide in Turkey.
Let's remember
all the innocent people slain by Union Carbide in Bhopal, India in 1984.
Let's take
the day to contemplate the people who have been innocent victims of genocidal
warfare in Africa.
Let's remember
the victims of the Holocaust and of the firebombing of Dresden.
Let's remember
the innocent victims of the good civilized loving Judeo-Christian Europeans
who used chemical weapons in War World I, killing millions of their own
and others.
Let's remember
the innocent victims of the Europeans and Americans, the good civilized
loving Judeo-Christians who killed ninety-eight million (98,000,000) people
in War World II and detonated the first Atomic bombs, not once, but twice
against Japan.
Instead of
waving the flag of one nation and thinking only about our own victims,
let's make September 11th, a day to remember all the people who died in
the hands of someone else's political agenda, through no fault of their
own, and let's say enough.
People of
the Earth, we should stand up and reject this, no matter what country
we are in, no matter what religion we follow, no matter our political
affiliation, status, race or anything else.
If we had
a moment of silence marking the time of every atrocity ever committed
in the name of nationalism, religion, national security and extending
the artificial borders, we would not have enough time to do anything else.
We are made
to believe that fear and hatred are part of our day-to-day beliefs and
lives making us forget we are all human beings, all in this together,
all fragile creatures whose lives can be snuffed out in an instant through
no fault of our own.
Lets
observe September 11th as the day when the nightmares that humans around
the world have been living with for decades came lumbering ashore on the
East Coast of the United States.
We should
see and observe September 11th for what it is, the day the US truly experienced
the horror that rings like a bell around the globe, from South America
to the Middle East to Micronesia. The day we joined the human race at
a most profound and fundamental level.
There should
be no - - Patriot Day, - - no day to further emphasize that we are different.
Instead,
we should have - - Enough Day - - Enough of putting the interests of any
one nation above the interests of the human race.
Let us understand
that we had enough of adversarial behavior over our small moronic differences
and killing each other over them.
Enough prejudice
and promoting hate, enough with politics causing fear, enough hunger,
enough violence, enough bombing, enough, enough, enough, enough.
Lets
have a global day of silence. Lets have a day of meditation commemorating
the memories of all the victims of global prejudice, nationalism and religion
killing machines on Earth.
Lets
take a day to celebrate the lives of all of us in the spirit of unity
and peace.
Lets
take a day to remember the fragility of human life and all the nightmares
wrought by those who wanted to impose their will upon the whole of humanity.
Lets
make a pact to never commit any act of violence, however small.
Lets
all of us let go of any hatred and prejudice and thirst for revenge and
realize that we had ENOUGH.

September 4, 2003
Patriot Day,
2003
By the President of the United States of America
A Proclamation
Two years
ago, more than 3,000 innocent people lost their lives when a calm September
morning was shattered by terrorists driven by hatred and destruction.
On that
day, and in its aftermath, we saw the greatness of America in the bravery
of victims; in the heroism of first responders who laid down their lives
to save others; in the compassion of people who stepped forward to help
those they had never met; and in the generosity of millions of Americans
who enriched our country with acts of service and kindness. Since that
day, we have seen the greatness of America further demonstrated in the
courage of our brave men and women in uniform who have served and sacrificed
in Afghanistan, in Iraq, and around the world to advance freedom and prevent
terrorist attacks on America.
As we remember
September 11, 2001, we reaffirm the vows made in the earliest hours of
our grief and anger. As liberty's home and defender, America will not
tire, will not falter, and will not fail in fighting for the safety and
security of the American people and a world free from terrorism. We will
continue to bring our enemies to justice or bring justice to them. This
Patriot Day, we hold steady to this task.
By a joint
resolution approved December 18, 2001 (Public Law 107-89), the Congress
has designated September 11 of each year as "Patriot Day."
NOW, THEREFORE,
I, GEORGE W. BUSH, President of the United States of America, do hereby
proclaim September 11, 2003, as Patriot Day. I call upon the people of
the United States to observe this day with appropriate ceremonies and
activities, including remembrance services and candlelight vigils. I also
call upon the Governors of the United States and the Commonwealth of Puerto
Rico, as well as appropriate officials of all units of government, to
direct that the flag be flown at half-staff on Patriot Day. In addition,
I call upon all Americans to display the flag at half-staff from their
homes on that day and to observe a moment of silence beginning at 8:46
a.m. eastern daylight time to honor the innocent victims who lost their
lives as a result of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
IN WITNESS
WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this fourth day of September, in
the year of our Lord two thousand three, and of the Independence of the
United States of America the two hundred and twenty-eighth.
GEORGE W.
BUSH
