Al-Watan
al-Arabi uncovers secrets from meetings of Khameneis chamber
Is there an Iranian plan to force the Americans out of Iraq before November?
What Lies
Beneath The Reformist & Hardliners Conflict?
Several weeks
ago, Khatamis threat of resignation overshadowed everything else
that was happening in Iran. The threat was issued as a response to the
Council of Guardians decision to disqualify several thousand reformist-bloc
candidates in the forthcoming parliamentary elections.
At the same time, the battle over the control of Iran has captured the
interests of security forces throughout the Arab world, who are occupied
with more than just the clash between Khatamis reformist supporters
and the followers of Supreme Leader Khamenei. According to most reports,
the hardliners are on the rise and all of Irans internal problems
stem from a plan concocted by the hardliners to use the elections to change
the face of reality: the outcome of the elections will restore the hardliners
power and bring an end to the age of the reformists. Indications to that
effect may be witnessed in a reception held for Hassan Rowhani, the Secretary
of Irans Supreme Security Council, during his last visit to France.
According to western sources, this is an indication that Rowhani, who
is closely associated with Hashemi Rafsanjani (Chairman of the Expediency
Council), is the candidate best poised to succeed president Khatami, which
would bring an end to the age of the reformists.
According to information received by Al-Watan al-Arabi, Irans two-faced
policy (on issues such as the production of weapons of mass destruction)
is a cover up for a secret plan concocted by the hardliners to go against
the American Middle-Eastern program and thwart it before it can reach
Iran and change the regime.
Al-Watan al-Arabis sources indicate that as of last summer, a series
of secret meetings has been taking place in the chamber of Supreme Leader
Ali Khamenei. These meetings were attended by the Supreme Leaders
political and security advisors and, most notably, by figures of historical
renown who were involved in exporting the Islamic Revolution and monitoring
the so-called liberation movement in the world, and who held
key positions in the Iranian intelligence headquarters, the Revolutionary
Guards and other security organizations.
These sources speak of an entire strategy planned on the basis of Khameneis
personal counsel; according to this strategy, it is necessary to confront
the US, whose invasion to Iraq was motivated, among else, by a desire
to reach the Iranian regime. The US, who has placed Iran on the axis of
evil, will not back out of its scheme to topple the Iranian regime despite
Irans best efforts and despite the problems that the US has run
into in Iraq. Iran is carefully observing recent developments in Iraq,
being especially interested in the relationship forming between the occupation
forces and Ayatollah al-Sistani, a cleric wielding vast influence among
Iraqi Shiites. According to Khameneis worldview, a transfer of Iraqi
political power to the Shiites will not be considered an Iranian victory,
as he considers it part of the Americans plan to bring the Iranian
regime to its knees by instating a Shiite regime in Iraq. Khameneis
opinion is based on al-Sistani and the Iraqi Shiites resistance
to the establishment of an Islamic state similar to Iran. He realizes
that al-Sistani has set out to establish a regime completely opposed to
the current regime in Iran, that he rejects the principle of wilayat al-faqih
[rule by men of religious authority] and has made it his goal to remove
the clerics from politics. Khamenei is therefore concerned about the possibility
of the triumph of the Najaf school of thought over the Qom school of thought,
and the spread of the Arab Shiah to the detriment of the Iranian
Shiah.
25 Million Dollars
Al-Watan al-Arabis sources indicate the existence of a plan designed
to foil the American program by using all means available to replace the
current American leadership and prevent Mr. George W. Bush from being
elected to a second term, which would herald the fall of the Islamic Republic.
According to the sources, a sum of $25,000,000 has been allotted for the
purpose of bringing this Iranian plan to fruition.
The sources speak of an intent to revitalize a plan carried out in the
80s; that is, to support any armed Islamic groups. The purpose of the
plan is first to drive the Americans out of Iraq; thenout of the
Persian Gulf; and ultimatelyout of the Middle East.
One of the objectives of the plan is to escalate the resistance in Iraq
along lines similar to the actions that were taken against the Americans
in Lebanon in the 80s that led to the deaths of hundreds of Americans.
The sources speak of a plan conceived by Khameneis followers to
escalate hostile actions against the Americans and the allied forces,
thus achieving a state of guerilla warfare that will include, in addition
to suicide bombing attacks, sniper shooting and even kidnapping of American
hostages with the purpose of putting them on display on global television
networks and making it into a hot pre-election issue in the US. The sources
indicate that this is one area of expertise that the Iranians do not lack
in: the hostage situation in the US embassy in Tehran that led to President
Carters downfall is one example; the western hostages incident in
Beirut is another.
Al-Qaeda and other Islamic groups
The sources indicate that recently, the Iranians have successfully created
groups of supporters not only among the Iraqi Shiites but also among Kurdish
and Sunni groups that smuggle arms and explosives to Iraq with the purpose
of carrying out hostile operations.
Most surprising is the Iranians success to break into the Al-Qaeda
organization and its related Islamic groups, not all of which are Sunni
fundamentalist organizations.
According to information received by Al-Watan al-Arabi, there has lately
been a surprise as a former Iranian agent in Khameneis chamber,
Hamid Reza Zakeri, admitted in Germany that the Iranian intelligence collaborated
with the Al-Qaeda cells that perpetrated the September 11 attacks in Washington
DC and New York. Ali Akbar Nateq Fawri had a hand in this by calling,
in May 2001, for the destruction of the image of the US and its
economy.
Several intelligence reports are unanimous with regard to Irans
significant success in its unprecedented infiltration into the Al-Qaeda
organization. Intelligence reports recently received by Al-Watan al-Arabi
indicate a change in the ranks of Al-Qaedas leadership. One of the
reports indicates that senior Al-Qaeda figures have escaped from Afghanistan
and Pakistan to Iran and that they reside in one of the Shahs palaces,
guarded by a special force of Khameneis Revolutionary Guards. This
has given rise to a new echelon in the Al-Qaeda leadership, including
Saad Bin-Laden, Sayf al-Adl, Abu Hafs al-Mawritani, and Suliman
Abu Ghith, as well as the leader of Ansar al-Islam, Abu Museb Zarqawi.
Perhaps the most troubling aspect revealed by the report is that the new
Al-Qaeda leadership in Iran does not plan to restrict itself to perpetrating
acts of jihad in Iraq alone (drawing, for that purpose, on Ansar al-Islam,
a radical Kurdish Islamic group with close links to Al-Qaeda). It is planning
to carry out operations throughout the Persian Gulf area and in Turkey,
as demonstrated by the recent terrorist attacks in Istanbul (it has become
known that the recent terrorist attacks in Istanbul were perpetrated in
collaboration with Al-Qaeda cells in Iran).
According to the report, the success demonstrated by the Turkish Hezbollah
organization in perpetrating the terrorist attacks in Istanbul has brought
about intelligence investigations into the Iranians success in infiltrating
Al-Qaeda and achieving cooperation between Al-Qaeda and various other
Islamic organizations throughout the Persian Gulf region (known as Hezbollah
of the Persian Gulf), thus uniting them under a single banner. Among the
leaders are Imad Mughniya, Saad Bin Laden, and Sayf al-Adl; the
leadership carries out orders given by a special Iranian apparatus acting
on Khameneis behalf to implement his plan against President George
W. Bush.
It appears that this new leadership is a Trojan horse that Khamenei has
decided to use from within Iraq. It is Irans Supreme Leaders
desire to draw upon this group to carry out his plan against President
Bush. The intelligence reports speak of an infiltration from Iran into
Iraq, as well as smuggling activity that encompasses a wide variety of
arms and explosives yet to be employed by the Iraqi resistance, suggesting
that grave acts of violence are in store for the future. The month of
March, according to the report, is going to be especially taxing, plagued
by an outburst of devastating suicide bombing attacks, abductions, and
acts of murder that will only grow worse as the elections in the US approach.
These acts will be perpetrated by various organizations belonging to a
multitude of streams in order to make it impossible to recognize them
for Khameneis work.
